Looking for something other than salads to use up your radishes this week? I recommend this super simple feta-radish dip, which I made for a picnic last weekend. Really easy and refreshing for a summer get-together!

CSA Resources

Now that the veggies are on their way to our fridges and counters, we wanted to share some great resources for the best ways to store and utilize your share!

  • Our "Caring For Your Share" PDF organizes common veggies in the order you should eat them, with quick facts on storage practices.

  • The Save the Food Campaign aims to reduce food waste in the US, and their beautiful website is packed with tips, tricks, and facts for wasting less food.

  • First time CSA users can review these 5 great tips on CSAs from The Kitchn.

  • The book Recipes from America's Small Farms, a collection of recipes from CSA farmers and members across the country, is a great resource for inspiration all season long.

Have a favorite resource not on this list? Feel free to share it on our Facebook page!

The Final Recycling Frontier: Organics.

If you're in a CSA, chances are you'll have your fair share of food scraps piling up this summer. A recent New York Times article sheds light on the challenges of expanding composting programs in New York City. Yet NYC officials are hopeful that we'll be able to grow and adapt composting programs to reduce the amount of food waste going into landfills.
