WSCSA NEWS AND UPDATES

Hi Members,

Now that the second half of our season is approaching, we've opened up volunteer registration for the remaining weeks. Summer share members must complete two volunteer sessions to fulfill the requirement, so sign up for your second shift here

We also want to announce a last call for tote bags. We'll be placing the final order this week, and members who have purchased one can expect to receive them at pickup in 2-3 weeks. If you want to place a last-minute order, please email the info account ASAP.

Have a great Labor Day weekend!

THIS WEEK IN FOOD TALK

A new report examines the depth in which climate change will impact agricultural yeild.

A new paper released this week combines and analyzes various studies done over the past several decades by 29 researchers across the globe. Each study varied in model, approach, scale and location, but the results all pointed to one conclusion. Many of the most produced and consumer crops (those that make up 2/3 of the world's caleries) will be impacted by the rising temperatures.

This synthesis of information is useful not only as a means of analysis, but also support for the work that many scienctists and farners are doing to combat climate change and work to adapt to the anticipated changes.

Cheers,
The WSCSA Core Committee
