Hi Members,

We're looking forward to another week of great produce! We have new members joining us for the start of fall share this week. Welcome new members! Below is some helpful information if this is your first time joining our CSA:

Pickup Location
St. Marks Church-in-the-Bowery
131 East 10th Street
(entrance on East 11th street between 2nd & 3rd Avenues)
From 4pm to 8pm

Check out our helpful Tips and FAQ's sheet for additional information on the pickup, and don't forget to bring your own bags for pickup each week. We cannot provide bags or boxes to help transport your share.

We need volunteers in the 4-6:30pm slot this week. Please email us or just stop by if you can help. Remember, all summer members must volunteer for 2 shifts throughout the season, and fall members must volunteer for 1, so if you haven't had a chance to sign up for your volunteer shifts, be sure to do so here

The WSCSA Core Committee

Fatigue has set in with everybody working 90 plus hours and short on a few people so we are in a way looking for that light…..Next 10 days looks fairly good with 4 out of 10 days with night time lows below 50 degrees. Soon crops will shift to more fall winter type crops such as greens, winter squashes, potatoes, ginger, etc. This week we are harvesting winter radishes and carrots for storage.

This week in the city we hosted some cacao farmers from Puerto Rico. I had visited Puerto Rico last February to survey the impact of the Hurricane on farmers there to see what we could do to help. We hosted the farmers at three events: one at the greenmarket, one at Gramercy Tavern, and the fundraiser dinner at Upland. The farmers and chocolate maker were introduced to potential customers.

Don't forget about our event coming up this weekend:

On Sunday 9/22 join us for the the End of Summer Farmer's Dinner Party honoring Chef Suzanne Cupps as she will be leaving Untitled. Her veggie centric dishes are well balanced and combine ingredients in exquisite ways without being pretentious. Reserve a spot on Resy between 5-9pm.
