A cold has been going around my office the past week, so I made this cold-fighting super power soup. This would be perfect for the fresh ginger coming from the CSA.

Hi Members,

We're nearing the end of the fall share! We have one shift open tomorrow in 2pm slot, which you can sign up for here. Only two pickups remain after 10/29. Out of 72 members, 16 members are yet to fulfill their volunteer requirements (i.e., 2 shifts for summer members and 1 shift for fall members). Please remember that there is a $100 fine for each missed shift.  Since so many members have still not yet completed their volunteer requirements, to avoid being fined $100 for each missed shift, we are offering a late-buyout option (i.e., $50 per shift). If choosing this advance option, $50 should be sent to Washington Square CSA at https://Venmo.com/washingtonsquarecsa.

In 2020 we'll need to migrate our website and membership platform to a new service, and we're looking for members with web design and/or web development experience to help us strategize the shift to a new platform. If you are interested, please email us ASAP at info@washingtonsquarecsa.com

We are up to 3 light frosts thus far with overall mild weather so we still have summer stuff as reflected in shares by having things like ginger and peppers still. However, by next Friday our fortunes may change as they are forecasting 29 degrees for a low with 3 to 4 days in a row with lows in the range. It has been a long run with a killing frost in November unheard of. The Egyptians are getting restless as the season ends and the weather gets colder and they miss their families. Soon a few of them will go home and by end of November half will be gone. We usually extend visas for 2 weeks to get more fall cleaning down in prep for the new season.

We are getting ready to open registration for Winter CSA. It is imperative that we get more winter CSA members to be able to continue to do winter CSAs so tell your friends, neighbors, and coworkers about joining the winter CSA. The fall harvest continues unabated with punctuations of rain that slow things down. The beautiful fall leaves are almost all gone and our geese are flying south and many song birds are following suite. Waning daylight and once again the cycles of nature remind us of the days of our lives…..
