Work-Shift Requirement

The CSA relies on its members to run the pickups. Per the application signed by all members, this CSA involves a time commitment in addition to CSA costs. You may complete your requirement on any pickup day. If you know that you will be unable to fulfill this requirement you may pay a waiver fee of $10 per hour. Your are encouraged to embrace Work-Shifts as an opportunity to participate in the CSA and have fun!

Winter share: the Work-Shift requirement for your Winter share is 2 hours per share which is 1 shift (each shift is 2 hours). Winter share waiver fee is $20.

Summer share: the Work-Shift requirement for your Summer share is 4 hours per share which is 2 shifts (each shift is 2 hours). Summer share waiver fee is $40.

Fall share: the Work-Shift requirement for your Fall share is 2 hours per share which is 1 shift (each shift is 2 hours). Fall share waiver fee is $20.

Note: Members who elect to perform their work-shifts but who who end up not fulfilling the requirement, will receive penalty fees at higher rates than this waiver

Summer Work-shift penalty = $60

Fall Work-shift penalty = $30

Work-Shift Location

All shifts take place at your pickup location. You are strongly urged to sign up for at least 1 morning shift! Morning shifts are most critical to running a CSA. Please work with your employer to plan ahead and email the Program Coordinator if you need any supporting documentation.

Tentative Work-Shift Schedule

Shift 1: 11am – 1pm  

• • Unloading the truck (heavy lifting involved)
  • Counting produce
  • Setting up site

Shift 2: 4:30pm – 6:30pm

• • Setting up site
  • Checking in members
  • Assisting members and maintaining site

Shift 3: 6:30pm – 8:30pm  

• • Checking in members
  • Assisting members and maintaining site
  • Cleanup
